At such a reasonable price we were expecting to have to forgo any extra performance details, but the back neck is taped and the Ride features a heat transfer label so you don’t get rubbed up the wrong way.
The lightweight fabric feels quite basic but it’s effective and dries fast if it does get damp. It relies on the stretch for movement rather than any more complicated design and this works in the sleeves – but through the body it’s quite boxy and could do with a touch more length at the back.
But all in all, if you’re just after a straightforward top that gets on with the job without breaking the bank – or your heart, if you manage to trash it – then the Royal Ride is a good one to try.
