Light weight and super comfortable – an ideal hot weather cycling outfit

This jersey (£99.99) uses Santini’s most form-fitting race cut. Its rear panel is cut from an ultra-light mesh bordered across the midriff and sides with stretch fabric. The result is highly supportive and feels great.

Shoulder panels use a lighter, less compressive but still close-fitting fabric, giving great freedom of movement. The back has a full-length Scotchlite reflective and three impressively non-sagging fabric pockets.

The front panel is a continuation of the compressive side panel, and doesn’t bunch at all. The flush-fitting zip is full length for maximum cooling. The cuffs and hem use secure, wide waffle-cut elastic bands.

The shorts (also £99.99) feature Santini’s brilliant breathable NAT chamois and NEXT gel pad, among the most comfortable we’ve tried. The outer thighs use heavier Lycra for a highly supportive fit, the remainder is a lighter, highly elastic Lycra.

The cuffs and bib use waffle-woven 5cm bands – fast drying, comfortable and superbly grippy. The simple design is among the lightest around.

Both shorts and top are very impressive: great styling, comfortable pad, close-cut, supportive and top-quality wicking fabrics. It’s a perfect outfit for hot, long rides.
