Madison Pursuit review

These lightweight shorts look surprisingly well featured for the price. They feature a built-in removable liner and more pockets than you're ever going to want to fill.

Lightweight shorts better suited to a less demanding riding style

These lightweight shorts look surprisingly well featured for the price. They feature a built-in removable liner and more pockets than you're ever going to want to fill.

However, the one-piece foam pad is huge and simply doesn't work - it ends up in the wrong place at the front of the shorts and formed an interesting (and uncomfortable) codpiece effect. The outer wasn't any better because the legs bunched with every pedal stroke.

We're not that keen on the way the Pursuits look off the bike, either, because a shortish (9in) inseam and those cargo pockets make them look a bit 'grandad' on a tourer.
