Good value for a shell and liner that are both of such quality that neither is a compromise

We’re going to start on the inside with Mavic's Red Rock shorts because the liner is so good we almost want to wear it outside (we say ‘almost’ because sheer mesh side panels in public aren’t quite our style).

Smooth flatlock seams improve comfort and the pad is plush with well-positioned flex channels and a wicking perforated cover. It forms the foundation for a pair of excellent lightweight baggies that you can barely feel when you ride.

The pared-down shell has no adjusters so you’ll need a belt to sling through the loops if you need to tweak the fit but we found the stretch fabric provided enough hold. At £75 this isn’t a cheap option – but it really is a superb combination of inner and outer.
