The Mambas are a top choice for the very hottest days in the saddle

Northwave's Mambas are at the lightest end of the shorts spectrum at a feathery 161g. Unsurprisingly, they feel particularly cool and airy, with a fairly open weave fabric on the sides of the legs and mesh in the bib straps that extends right down to the small of your back.

  • Highs: Beautifully light and cool
  • Lows: A little draughty if it’s not hot

If you’re heading out on a properly hot day, these are a great choice. Despite the low weight, the pad is agreeably thick where it counts, with comfortable transitions to thinner, more flexible sections. Simple stretchy leg grippers do the job just fine, and the reflective darts at the back of each leg are a neat touch.
