Practical, sturdy, shaped sports bra but very expensive for underwear

It’s unusual to find underwiring in a sports bra. You might expect it to be uncomfortable and unnecessary, but it’s really effective in adding extra support.

The secret to the design is that instead of being a flat U-shape the wires are shaped around the body for a close fit without the wire digging in at the sides. That means a much more comfortable fit than a sweaty compression bra, and it looks better under most kit as well.

The underwiring and dense fabric mean it’s a thick, sturdy bra. But technical, wicking material on the cups and mesh on the sides keep it cool and breathable. We weren’t keen on the Xena effect of the silver yarn on the cups, but that’s a minor point unless you’re confident enough to go training in just your undies.

It’s available in a decent range of sizes from 30-40, B-G and 30-38H, and we reckon larger wearers won’t be disappointed.

The biggest downside here is the price, which is well above what we’d usually pay for a sports bra.
