Until recently, Agu was more known for its good value, no-nonsense rainwear than anything else, but with its sponsorship of Lotto-Jumbo and moves into pro-racing (plenty of Lotto are wearing the Bolds) that looks set to change.

The Bolds have a great squared-off shield design that’s both retro and modern. The full frame is set slightly back from the lens itself, meaning that it’s actually well vented, and combined with an anti-fog coating on the lens these sunglasses stayed pretty clear throughout testing.

The minimal arms are well sprung and the temple tips sticky and generous in size.

Fit is excellent and they stay put in the rough too with help from those tacky arms and the adjustable nose-piece.

Protection from the wind is excellent and the clarity of the lens is sharp too.
