Our review
Class leading feel, power and mountain-proofing at a low weight

The basic version of Formula’s Oro still has the key features that makes it one of our favourite all-round anchors.

The organic-looking design doesn’t get the FCS bite point adjustment of pricier Oros but stopping power is arresting once bedded in.

Lever feel and modulation are marvellous, while pad life is good and it’s immune to any heat build up you’ll see in real use. This all inspires complete confidence.

Despite all this it’s still a very lightweight unit, even by cross-country standards.

There’s also the option to go a rotor size smaller than most brakes while retaining ample power if weight really matters to you. Pricing and reliability are excellent, with great event back-up from UK importer Propel too.
