Bontrager Race X Lite Switchblade review

Bontrager Race X Lite Switchblade review

The Race X Lite features carbon-wrapped aluminium legs together with an aluminium crown and dropouts. Like most fixed-blade forks these days, it's designed to plug into frames built with a mid-travel suspension fork in mind.

Our review
A fairly conservative but well-built and well-priced offering from Mr Bontrager

The Race X Lite features carbon-wrapped aluminium legs together with an aluminium crown and dropouts. Like most fixed-blade forks these days, it's designed to plug into frames built with a mid-travel suspension fork in mind.

The X Lite is very slightly longer than the other forks though, so it's a good option if you're worried about a shorter fork leaving you with an over-steep head angle. Tip: running a tall tyre on the front will do this too, as well as adding more comfort and traction. We like the ride feel of the X Lite, but ideally the 29er version should have a longer offset (different crown) than the 26er.
