Almost without a doubt, the best value fixed-blade fork around

The 29er version of Salsa’s straight-blade Cromoto steel fork is 465mm long (axle to lower head race) and has disc brake bosses. It’s designed to replace a 100mm-travel suspension fork.

If you want a shorter fork, Salsa offer two other options that will accept a 29in wheel: a 445mm disc-only version and a 425mm disc and (removable) cantilever boss version.

Many riders will be tempted by the lower weight of the carbon composite forks, but the three who tried this thought it offered a comfier ride than most carbon rigid forks by absorbing more trail chatter.
