The wall of the tubing has indentations so that STI or Ergopower levers can come a long way back before they 'bite'. The hydro forming process is achieved by placing the tube into a former then injecting water inside the tube at very high pressure, forcing the wall of the tubing outwards. The Eva comes with variable grip sizes - 38cm at the top, widening to 42cm at the drops.
