Genetic Syngenic Road Pedal review

The Genetic is another pedal that copies Look's classic Delta design. It uses the same cleat as the Ritchey WCS and features an identical rubber bumper to improve grip when walking.

Our review
Classy looking road shoe that performs well scores highly in terms of price versus quality

The Genetic is another pedal that copies Look's classic Delta design. It uses the same cleat as the Ritchey WCS and features an identical rubber bumper to improve grip when walking.

Running a Look-style Delta cleat also means spares are readily available. Release tension is adjustable and the overall quality for the price is impressive. Stack height is quite high at 20mm, but the mechanism feels reassured and secure under power.

The overall feel is good and the presence of cartridge and needle bearings is impressive at this price range. The classy looks and smooth performance offer good value for money, but performance riders may want to find a pedal with a lower stack height. The Genetics are a good choice for the enthusiast on a budget or for anyone after reliable performance in a tried and trusted design that won't let you down.
