Our review
Soft, plush and comfortable – but overkill for most riders

The original Aliante still sets the endurance saddle benchmark – its curvy shape and kicked up rear section is brilliantly comfortable. The new VS X, however, introduces a few features that are designed to further enhance your seating pleasure.

Fi'zi:k has introduced a 20mm deep pressure relieving channel, with a large Y-shaped cutout in the carbon-reinforced base. The widening channel is steep-sided and deep (thankfully the padding is soft enough that you don't feel the edges).

The consensus among testers was that the standard Aliante is so good, well shaped and comfortable, that this version feels over-padded and too plush. If, though, you really struggle with saddle comfort then this soft variant on one of the best saddle shapes ever may well be worth a try.
