Not a flighty racing thoroughbred but an ideal race/trail crossover

This saddle is hard to categorise – it’s on the heavy side for a pure race saddle but does provide a decent race platform, and it’s skinnier than an all-rounder but still superbly secure.

The 611 is available in five widths and we were sent the SQ Lab’s bum-measuring kit that allows you to measure how far apart your seat bones are so that you can match yourself to the appropriate saddle.

Having done that, it’s probably no surprise that this was one of the comfiest saddles we've tested – so comfortable that it persuaded a committed Fizik Gobi rider to swap seats.

That could also be down to the strategically placed gel inserts on the seat and sculpted shape that has an anatomically correct pocket and central depression to keep the pressure off your valuables.

The profiled shape holds you so well it’s like wearing a seat belt, and for such an otherwise plush saddle there’s no restriction on pedalling.
