As you’d expect for this sort of cash, the High Tail carbon saddle from WTB weighs a scant 162g. The big cutout at the rear is to help prevent tyre buzz on longer travel bikes when bottomed out – handy if your bike suffers from this problem.
That aside, riding on this thin perch is a pretty firm experience to say the least. If you're a rider who doesn’t have a weathered behind (and wants to keep things that way) then you might want to look elsewhere.
The central channel does help alleviate pressure though, which helps on longer rides. In our opinion though the minimal, firm padding is definitely better suited to shorter stints in the hills rather long all day trudges.
Some testers also found that the defined edge on the underside of the nose could snag shorts from time to time.
