An option if you’re a light rider without a history of breaking stuff. Otherwise, avoid

Carbon Cycles sell lightweight, mainly carbon fibre parts produced in the Far East. This post looks like a bargain for road riders or cross-country weight fetishists who ride with finesse. The clamp uses two long thin titanium bolts and a carbon cradle, attached to a forged aluminium sleeve on top of a carbon shaft.

We wouldn’t recommend it to heavy, clumsy or aggressive riders – this type of inline clamp design is only good for light riders on easy-going terrain. The shaft is strong enough but we had to retighten the bolts a few times because the seat came loose.
