Ingenious yet practical premium post with useful lay-back

We wondered what on earth RaceFace were thinking when we first saw their seatposts with cantilevered collars, but they've proved themselves superb seat shafts.

The system looks complicated but, by separating the saddle clamp mechanism from the saddle angle adjustment, it's incredibly easy to use. It handles 7 or 8mm rails no problem while giving half an inch of lay-back. The triple-butted post seems plenty tough and it's pretty light too (a Next SL version with a carbon fi bre shaft and 15g less weight is also available for £99.95). We've had no problems with slipping, squeaking or loosening either, despite running samples for over a year. Pricing is fair for a top quality post and there are enough sizes to fit most bikes.
