This very classy 265g seatpost from Raleigh comes in 27.3, 30.9 and 31.6mm widths (we tested the 27.2mm version) and they're all a helpfully versatile 400mm long. Two side-by-side rail clamp bolts, as used by the TXC here, tend to hold saddles a little more firmly than most singlebolt heads, but sadly the black coating on the 7075 T6 heat-treated aluminium started to rub off as soon as we clamped it into a frame.
Still, it's a tough, no-nonsense item and we've seen it advertised at less than half the recommended retail price - which already represents genuinely great value for money - so shop around for the best deal.
