In the busy market of 29in tyre options it’s good to find one that does everything well.
Halo’s 2.35in Choir Master has a fairly aggressive, wide spaced tread pattern that doesn’t block in mud, plus a big enough air volume to boost comfort. It rolls faster than Halo’s beefier Choir Boy tyres because the knobs are shallower and so less flexible, but cornering traction is excellent on most terrain.
You need to be aware of the big square edges of the lean transition knobs. They hook up superbly in loamy terrain but give way suddenly if you lean too far.
Construction is skin-wall with a steel bead. The soft compound will wear faster than some treads but that’s the price you pay for improved traction. Claimed weight is 790g but ours were about 25g lighter.
