Tough and fast, but you’ll need to pick between toughness and traction

The Toro is a useful year-rounder that’s okay in winter. Low, square knobs help it roll better than most all-rounders and make it predictable on turns, wet hardpack and rocks. It clears well and hooks up okay in mud, with anticipated, controllable slide when it does let go.

Hardskin tyres work well at low pressures, particularly this tubeless version, which has stayed sealed on the most mangled rims. It’s less grippy than the lighter, more pliable versions over random root and rock sections though, so you can’t have it both ways. The price is excessively high too.
