Not cheap, but truly aggressive DH race tyre for the worst courses

Michelin tyres have a great reputation among gravity racers.

The DH Mud 3's super aggressive staggered spike tread uses an ultra soft-compound rubber that excels on rocks and roots. The tubeless carcass can be run at a low enough pressure to squeeze through evil sections and drops without defl ecting, yet it turns tighter than any other tyre on the circuit.

The tyre wanders on hardpack, but you can still lean over to crazy angles for genuine no-compromise cornering. It has to be ridden on a seriously steep, technical course like a Welsh Dragon run to bring out the tyre's racewinning potential though, as it's a slow roller. And it is expensive considering the short life span...
