The latest 29in offering from WTB, the Vulpine is a fast-rolling semi-slick tyre that can handle tarmac as well as hardpack trail. However, while it can handle a bit of rain, it’s no friend to mud.
The Vulpine has a generous cushion of air, offering loads of comfort for all-day rides – and the 620g weight is fair given its size. It’s fast, too; the central tread pattern rolls almost silently, with a set of outer lugs that bite in on looser corners. It works nicely on the back with an aggressive tyre up front.
