Steady, rather than speedy, but Vredestein’s training tyre is a high traction, tough-as-nails mile-eater. The TriComp triple compound design is copied over from the flagship Fortezza tyre and keeps hooked up reliably even when you’re braking and turning hard on wet/greasy roads.
It’s also significantly lighter than the 270g Vredestein claim, at 241g, meaning adequate acceleration and agility. The ‘Excellent’ polyamide layer has protected our test tyre from punctures so far.
The 50tpi carcass doesn’t roll as swiftly as some of the subtlest tyres, and while there are five colour options there’s only one width (23mm).
