Super high quality rim, combining strength with low weight

Strong rims are essential for downhill use and abuse, but these days weight saving has become increasingly important.

The most popular rims out there seem to be Mavic Deemax, Mavic EX823 and Sun MTX, but we reckon this particular DT Swiss number will be very popular...

The disc specific design is very strong, with a join that's both pinned and welded, with the weld then ground down to smooth. Stainless steel eyelets make for easy building and support the nipples well, again making for a stronger wheel, and the black anodising keeps the surface tough too.

We built a pair of these rims on excellent Burgtec hubs (32-spoke front, 36 rear) with a three-cross pattern using DT Swiss Proline nipples, and created a very nice set of wheels. Tensioning is easy because the tolerance of the rim is spot-on - there's no dodgy egg shape action here!
