We’ve ridden these wheels a lot on Giant bikes this year and they’re decent performers. The deep-hooked rims means actual tyre stance isn’t that wide, so bigger tyres can feel bulbous. But with mid-width tyres, the P-TRX 1s corner precisely. The rims hold on to tyres well at low pressures if you convert them to tubeless with the supplied tape.
The straight-pull DT Swiss bladed spokes are tight and even, with no loosening during testing despite low flanges leaving a long unsupported length. Wheel weight is low too, and the freehub picks up fast and spins silently, which stealth fans will love.
The price seems seriously steep though, especially as you’ll have to source 142x12mm axle converters separately from DT Swiss as Giant “can’t supply them”.
