Our review
Dependable Hope hub performance, but the rims are too soft to hammer on

Chicken Cycles sent us these wheels to showcase their Rigida Disc Bull rims, but unfortunately they’re the least impressive part of the package.

They’re relatively cheap at £31.99 each and the 31mm width plumps up larger tyres nicely. Single eyelets also spread spoke stress, but the shallow sidewalls dent easily. On the bright side, they’re soft enough to dent rather than causing a pinch flat, so you’ll finish your race, but this isn’t a good trait in the long run.

The Hope Pro II hubs boast the same reliable universal axle versatility as usual. But Hope will build them up with any Mavic, DT Swiss or Stan’s rim and throw in spare spokes for £15 less.
