The Push Intellihead Energy has some good features. A two-way action means it inflates in both directions not just the downwards stroke. There's also the function that gives it its name, a valve head that fits both Presta and Schrader valves without have to fiddle around and change anything.
Just push it into place over the valve, close the lock and you’re good to go. The handle is designed to give a good grip and there’s a slim pressure gauge too. Yet for all those advantages we didn’t love it, and it wasn’t just the usual quibble with being able to read the gauge either.
This is a small pump but has too many lumps and bumps to slide discreetly into a jersey pocket and most importantly it doesn’t provide the sort of speedy fill you’d expect from the dual action construction. If you need two valve heads you might be happy with the trade-off, but it didn’t work for us.
