Few shoes envelop the foot like a custom moulded Lake CX402. The carbon tub rises about 20mm above the sole all around, and forms most of the heel cup too.
It offers plenty of room for your toes – even when the twin BOA dials are fully tightened, because they can’t squeeze your foot.
- Highs: Simply perfect fit when moulded
- Lows: Can you justify the price?
Lake uses hardwearing K-Lite kangaroo leather for the sort of soft, supple uppers not usually found outside of Harvey Nichols. Like the wide tongue, they’re heavily perforated, and they also incorporate with a mesh panel for ventilation.
The perforated Kangaroo leather heel liner provides luxuriant grip, and while the footbed itself is thin, the crucial instep support comes from the customisable carbon sole, which carries over from the CX401 and has multiple vents to disperse heat.
These shoes are comfortable all day long, with perfect fit and adjustment, style, quality and epic performance.
