Simple and heavy, but still a classic entry-level jump fork

Marzocchi had the dirt jump market pretty much to themselves for years and the DJ3 is still the most common fork you’ll see in any ramp-infested clearing.

It’s a quick-release fork, but the simple forged lowers are very well proven in terms of slam proofing. The coil-sprung internals get a simple but effective bottom out damper for slam control. They can also be stiffened up for emergency-only movement (if that’s what you’re after) by charging the auxiliary air spring.

The simple rebound circuit is fixed at a slow single hit rate though, with the adjustability saved for the £249.95 DJ2. Enough metal to cope with regular crashing also means a big chunk of weight in the nose of your bike.
