OneUp EDC Lite tool review

OneUp Components’ EDC Lite tool is a small multi-tool that gets stashed inside your fork’s steerer tube.

The brand’s original EDC tool proved popular with everyday riders and racers alike because of its discreet storage and ease of access.

This smaller version retains those benefits and features a new housing design (also available for the full-size EDC V2 tool) that means you no longer need to thread your steerer or use a OneUp stem to attach it to your bike.

To install the plastic housing, you need to tap your star nut deeper into the fork steerer (check the minimum steerer length required before buying), using the supplied bolt and instructions to get the correct depth. This was a simple job that took me just a few minutes.

The tool itself has nine functions: 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 8mm Allen keys, a T25 Torx wrench and a flat-head screwdriver.

Even though it’s small, I found it wasn’t possible to get to every bolt on my test bike with it. However, for trailside adjustments or tightening loose, easy-to-reach bolts, it’s decent and covers most parts on a bike.

It feels well-built and sturdy even for its small size. There’s no chain breaker but, at 89g, it’s pretty ideal to have on your bike, knowing that should you need it, it’s always close to hand.
