Good charging options, but let down by clamp and light output

The quick-release bracket of the NiteRider is based around a ratchet system that you squeeze together to close. It’s a good idea in principle, but because the teeth are spaced a little too far apart and the inner rubber padding couldn’t compress sufficiently, we struggled to tighten it enough (on both standard and oversized bars) to stop it vibrating annoyingly on rough roads.

The wide, diffuse beam is bright enough on its highest setting to ride by at moderate speeds, but it felt dull compared to some cheaper lights. We do like the versatility and convenience of the USB charger and three-pin plug adapter, though.
