If you’re fed up with your pack interfering with descents but hate the idea of bottle cages, this is for you

This is the dinkiest of the modern trend of ‘harness’ style packs we've found – and it has racing firmly on its mind. The main pocket is consumed by the 2L bladder (included), which despite the snug surroundings, is easy to remove and install thanks to its Hydrapak design. You can just about squeeze some spare gloves or a shell in there. There’s also a removable rear pocket big enough for a tube, pump, tools and your keys. Just.

We’re not 100 percent sure that we’d ever really run it without the pocket but the option is there if you need it. The F3’s best trick however is how it fits. There’s one main buckle across your chest and each strap is then individually adjusted via chunky Velcro sections to get the perfect fit. This can take a bit of experimenting but by the end of the first ride, the diminutive USWE sits snuggly in place.

The F3 comes as close to that magical ‘I’m not wearing a pack’ feel as any backpack we’ve tried. Racing aside, it’s fantastic for regular local rides if you can’t be bothered with bottles.
