Samassi is a pioneering 3D-printing company that has recently moved into cycling products.

Its first foray into the cycling world comprises a range of intricate 3D-printed titanium bike computer mounts and a wide selection of 3D-printed saddles.

Prices rise from £69 / $89 for a titanium bike computer mount to £266 for its range-topping TR8 3D-printed saddle. More products will be added to the line-up soon, according to Samassi.

Samassi offers a huge range of 3D-printed titanium computer mounts.

There are dedicated direct-fit models for bikes from Colnago (integrated bar), Scott (Addict RC, Foil RC), Specialized (Tarmac SL8/SL7, Roval bar), EXS AeroVer, Trek (Madone SLR 8), Giant (carbon stem, G10 TCR), Pinarello (Most one-piece bar) and Big Rock (second generation), and a universal mount for one-piece bars.

The lattice structure provides strength while minimising weight, with my universal mount test sample tipping the scales at only 23.6g with the Garmin mount insert bolted in place.

We’ve seen 3D-printed titanium mounts before, such as Silca’s original Mensola and the Chisela. However, the latter mount retails at £100 / $99 and weighs between 27 and 35g depending on the version.

At £69 / $89, Samassi’s take on the 3D-printed titanium computer mount looks to be good value. It’s priced close to K-Edge’s similar direct-mount option for integrated bars (£70, 56g).

All the major saddle brands now offer 3D-printed saddles. The unifying factor, however, is it’s almost impossible to find one from these brands for less than £300 / $300, especially if you factor in lightweight carbon rails.

Samassi offers a range of six 3D-printed saddles, all with carbon rails and composite bases, from £77 for the R1 to £266 for the 188g, titanium-based TR8 model.

I have a road-specific R7 model, which is priced at £235 / $309.95.

It features oversized 7x9mm T800 carbon rails, a moulded carbon base and 3D-printed TPU padding. The 255x143mm shape has a slotted pressure-relief rear section.

The nose padding has a specific pattern to aid grip in all weather, and my test sample weighs an impressively light 161.7g.
