Q: Do steel frames rust?

A: If bare steel is left to corrode in wet (particularly salty) conditions then, yes, it will rust. It's generally just cosmetic damage around scratches though as it takes ages for a frame to rot enough to lose strength. If you do a lot of winter road mileage or are worried then you can always spray some. Waxoil car preservative into the tubes just in case.
