The North Face Sailfin review

Nice bag with a well-aerated back that’s let down by the stiff, rubbery shoulder straps and the lack of a waist belt.

Just the basics, but it could be more secure for the rugged trails

Nice bag with a well-aerated back that's let down by the stiff, rubbery shoulder straps and the lack of a waist belt, which allowed the tapered shape to slowly creep skywards if we didn't constantly shrug and wriggle it back down.

The Nalgene bladder has TNF's clever valve catcher - the magnetic catch is strong enough to hold the bite valve right where you want it without any fiddling, though flow isn't as immediate as some others. There's also one full length zip pocket and one mesh to stash your kit, as well as a bungee on the front for a jacket.
