Our review
A bright, roomy pack that’s light but short of features

This is a limited-edition, nine-litre pack from CamelBak that splices two of its classic packs, the Blowfish and the Mule, into a distinctive pack that skims weight at the cost of durability and pockets..

'Limited edition' doesn’t just refer to colour. The whole pack design is unique, so you’ll really stand out.

Like all CamelBaks, the three-litre hydration bladder is easy to access and works brilliantly.

There’s an outer pocket with two useful dividers, and the mesh net behind the main compartment is perfect for layers or a helmet.

Tucked away neatly under the pack is a high-visibility waterproof cape for commuting. The six padded panels contour well around the back and create a snug, comfy fit for all-day rides.

Considering the Scudo’s commuting inclinations, there’s a dearth of reflective piping – far less than the Blowfish.

While you gain a few extra features (and for a fiver less), you do lose a couple of pockets.

The lightweight ripstop fabric is, well, light, but it’s also not the most abrasion-resistant.

We’d have liked a means to control the bladder hose – it had a tendency to flail around.

And although the cinch straps are relatively quick to use, they cross the path of the zip. Integrated snap clips would be better.
