The Grand MOM gives great tyre coverage, but it does have a weakness. With a well-designed guard section and an adjustable articulating support arm, the potential for a mud-free bum is high even in the worst weather.
The only letdown is the easy-to-set-up but tricky-to-master fabric strap. It’s simple to use because you don’t need to have any shims and it will fit all seatposts, from skinny steel to wide carbon ones. But it’s hard to get it tight enough.
If it’s not tensioned properly, the Grand MOM can easily wiggle loose. Once you’ve mastered the strap, though, this guard will really do its job. Pricey though.
