"Universal fitting bar drink system, but actual drink delivery lets it down"

Thursday, October 13, 2011 9.00am By

Elite are the most popular bottle choice among professional roadies and now they want to squeeze their way into the multi-sport market with this easy-fit drinking system. Using an aero shaped bottle in front of the head tube decreases drag and puts the drink pipe right where you need it for sucking in a tuck.

The wings that the bottle clips into come with Velcro straps, and optional extenders make sure the Aeton system fits every width of extension too. The 155mm drop from extension to bottle base mean low bar fans will need to check tyre clearance.

The sealed top stops spillage, but swivels easily for fast filling. The BPA plastic is tasteless and a blue pan scrubber filter screens out unmixed energy drink. The silicon bite valve lets air in when you’re drinking though, which lowers useful flow rate and threatens indigestion.
