A good pair of knee warmers is vital to any cyclist’s wardrobe, but the Pedla Knee Grazers really stand out from the crowd.
Justin Abrams from the Pedla recently told BikeRadar, “Camo is the new black,” and this philosophy is certainly evident in the Knee Grazers, which are only available in the ‘grey camo’ colourscheme you see here.
The extra long, fleece-lined MITI Roubaix fabric warmers measured 46cm in length (for the size small pair we tested), and feature top and bottom grippers. Our pair is just tight enough around our legs to stay put in the wind, without cutting off circulation.
Silicone grippers keep the warmers in place
The silicone bands do well to keep the warmers in place no matter how wet the conditions or how sweaty our legs get. The top gripper did chafe on our first few outings, but has become more comfortable with use.
Knee warmers are only meant to keep the joint warm, but the Knee Grazers covered most of our calf. Abrams explains the extra length: "It gets cold in Melbourne, so when designing a piece for riding here, we took [the temperature] into account.”
As the temperatures during testing dropped, that extra lenght certainly did help keep the muscle feeling warm and fresh.
The Knee Grazers are quite long compared to other knee warmers
We found that the Pedla warmers were best suited to cooler, but not bitter temperatures. They kept our legs comfortably warm even when the temperature dropped down to around 8ºC (46ºF).
Overall the Knee Grazers do the job well, while adding a bit of extra style to your outfit.
