Excellent windproof gloves, perfect if you like a lot of padding

Some cyclists like their gloves to have little if any padding, others prefer theirs with plush, gel-filled palms – these will appeal to the latter. Altura’s Ergofit Windproofs are quite a light pair of gloves, but still manage to pack in copious amounts of Progel padded inserts.

These protect the ball of the thumb, the outside of the hand and run along the top of the palm. The inner fleece lining is comfortable, there’s a wide cuff with a tab for pulling them on and the windproof material on the back proved to be pretty effective in all but the very coldest conditions. It’s good to see a decent amount of reflective material too.
