Assos Pro Gloves review

This mitt didn't really feel like an Assos product at all. Assos kit usually exudes quality, whereas this is merely okay.

A basic, does-the-job cycle mitt... from Assos of all people!

This mitt didn't really feel like an Assos product at all. Assos kit usually exudes quality, whereas this is merely okay. The synthetic fabric palm is padded with thick but easily compressible foam.

It's more comfortable than I expected but still far short of the gel, dense foam and neoprene in other mitts. Silicone microdots cover the palm and thumb arch. Grip is reasonable. The thumb is towelling for wiping duties. The upper is an unadorned stretchy Lycra-style fabric, notable only for the fact that it's available in a good range of colours. A large Velcro strap helps keep the mitt snug, while twin finger loops aid removal. By anyone else's standards this is a bread-and-butter basic mitt; by Assos standards it's a disappointment. At this price, the Endura mitt and the more basic Specialized BG mitts outclass it.
