Waterproof enough for all but the longest rides, adaptable and great value

Although quite a weighty jacket, there's a clue as to why in the name. The sleeves and the shoulder section are removable, leaving you with a gilet should you feel the need to go sleeveless.

This jacket is one of those wonderful all-rounders that'll do almost anything. It's remarkably waterproof for the money, and although not quite as breathable as jackets costing twice as much, it really isn't that far off.

With good detailing, reflective bits in the right places, two front pockets and a rear pocket (all zipped) this is a fantastic little number considering the price. You can use and abuse it, bang it in the washing machine and it comes out like new, and all for just over 50 quid. Top stuff.
