Good value all round jacket for the streets and trail.

The Phoenix is a well-priced all rounder and a good choice for the regular day-to-day commute and weekend mountain ride. The three layer laminate isn't up to the performance of eVent or Gore-Tex, but it's waterproof, windproof and breathable. More importantly, it's stitched to Endura's high standard and has been made to last.

The fit is more recreational, with plenty of room underneath for clothes or a thick winter layering system and breathability is what we'd expect from a jacket at this price and weight. The additional underarm zipped vents help circulate air in an effort to cool things down.

The drawcord droptail keeps you covered in the saddle and features a reflective lined, water-resistant storage pocket. Reflective piping also lines the arms, and if you really want to be seen by traffic, we'd recommend the hi-viz yellow version. A good high collar can be drawn in to block out the wind and there's plenty of room around the cuffs to wear gloves underneath.
