Despite a very stiff sole these are a surprisingly comfortable shoe to ride in. That sole is four-bolt compatible, which is handy for cleats compatible with a fourth bolt for memorising cleat position.
The fit is very good, and the adjustable main pad on the top strap (Gaerne call this the Adjustable Instep Closure System) made getting them to fit different feet a doddle.
A replaceable heel protector and micro-adjust buckle along with a padded tongue for comfort and reflective detail on the heels round off an impressive pair of shoes that are perfectly suited to almost any kind of road riding.
