Packed with features but could do with lighter materials

These perennial budget classics from Scottish kitmeisters Endura always sell in spades but are getting a bit long in the tooth.

At nearly 600g they’re shockingly heavy, which will affect comfort when the fabric gets sweaty or wet, and the plethora of cargo spaces will allow you to weigh yourself down still further.

We’re not sure why the two deep rear pockets are faced with a nylon shell fabric. They don’t extend across the splash zone, and inhibit breathability without offering much additional protection.

The ripstop outer is pretty much bombproof and comes with a fit-enhancing stretch yoke but the elasticated waist makes the Hummvees far from flattering for anyone but supertoned gym bunnies.

The Clickfast liner is easily swappable, making these a versatile, good value riding staple, but more suitable for mid-season rather than the sweaty heights of summer.
