Endura Thermolite bib knickers£49.99

Practical choice for cooler days

Endura's Thermolite bib knickers are a great 3/4-length short for spring/autumn wear, or chilly summer evenings.

The six-panel construction gives a comfortable fit, and the integral synthetic chamois pad has a lower profile than the nappy-like constructions found in some rivals' garments.

The lower back coverage and shoulder straps mean cold air isn't going to be able to sneak up under your jersey, while the Thermolite fabric keeps your legs and knees surprisingly warm as the temperatures drop. Though not waterproof, the fabric dries extremely quickly.

There are some downsides: the large logos on the legs quickly begin to crack and look less than new, and taller riders will find that these shorts have a tendency to ride up slightly when pedalling.

This means that the silicone grippers at the bottom of the legs which fitted snugly round your calf muscles when standing are left hanging limply in the air as soon as you put in a pedal stroke or two. Not a big issue, and it's one that plagues most 3/4-length shorts, but annoying nonetheless.

Despite these niggles, the Endura Thermolite is a comfortable and practical addition to any rider's wardrobe, proving perfect for everything from commuting to wearing under baggies on mountain bike rides.
