This all-new guide from Blackspire has clearly been well thought through – all the hardware remains captive making set up far less fiddly. The slider guides allow for accurate tuning at both the top and bottom, and protection is taken care of by a taco. The Der Guide runs surprisingly quietly and after a good amount of riding we haven’t worn the slider.
This pre-production sample doesn’t look great but that will change for production. We think it would be a hardier design if the top of the backplate was fully enclosed above the top guide – bridging the top would put our minds at rest.
