Out on the bike, the smooth shallow drops and tight bend noticeably improved braking control by bringing levers in closer than they would be on most standard bars.

At first glance, the drops appear remarkably shallow, and although my hands fit easily in the bend, there wasn't much length on the end of the drops to rest them. Reach to the hoods is also reduced, which makes the riding position slightly more upright. But along with improved braking, this shortened reach can help to correct the fit of a small men's bike for women or juniors.

Space is well used across the tops, with a square-angled bend giving plenty of room for hands to shift along the length. In sizes from 36-44cm, the FIT VRs should cover most shoulder widths of riders with small hands.
