The swollen ergo-shaped tops of the Formidable might not appeal to everyone, but place your hands on them and you find the shape is wide and sculpted enough for great comfort while cruising, and can be gripped when the going gets tough.
However, the Classic round drops are at odds with the tops, both visually and in terms of performance, with the transition from top to drop too steep, and the bend too tight for your hands to find a natural resting place.
Stiffness and weight ae average for an aluminium bar, but the non-Classic Formidable might prove to be a better option.
