Great value hubs with positive engagement

The Hope Pro 2 is a new cross-platform hub - light enough for a trail bike but with downhill bike strength. It's available in lots of sizes and a trials version too.

The basis of the Pro 2 is a 2014 T6 alloy body machined from solid billet (the expensive way) and both hubs feature integral six-bolt disc rotor mounts. The front weighs 185g, and the rear is 285g, with an alloy freehub body to reduce rear wheel weight.

There are now four pawls in the rear hub engaging a 24-tooth ratchet, to make a faster and more direct pick-up in the drive. Hope hubs have always done well in foul weather and they're only getting better, with four sealed cartridge bearings hiding beneath redesigned non-contact labyrinth seals.

The pawls engage in a positive fashion and so far they're smooth and play-free. Hope are also now producing their own wheel sets with Pro 2 options and DT Swiss spokes.
